Description
Corn oil and health
There is medical research that suggests that excessive levels of fatty acids Omega-6 in contrast to fatty acids omega-3 may increase the likelihood of certain health conditions or even depression.
Nowadays, eating habits of western societies feature omega-6 to omega-3 ratios that are higher than 10 to 1, and in some cases because of corn oil omega-6 may be equivalent to omega-3. The recommended ratio should not exceed 4 to 1.
Consuming high quantities of omega-6 fatty acids can possibly increase the likelihood of breast cancer for women after menopause. There are also similar indications for prostate cancer (8). Other research has also suggested a reverse association between the intake of polyunsaturated fat and the likelihood of breast cancer.
